Well, I want to be able to do more on my Tivo than just watch TV and record. I want to be able to access it via a web interface, and most importantly, share recordings between Tivos. I see that this is all possible with Series 2 Tivos. Unfortuantely, I have a DTV R10 Tivo....which I've found out I can't do much with. So my question is...which DTV Tivo is best for hacking? I plan to buy a couple of them off eBay, but since I'm no Tivo expert, I figured I'd ask here before I do anything stupid. Sorry for such a noob question :-\. Thanks to everyone for their input!

Thanks a bunch,
KM

Any DTivo other than the R10 will work fine. Some have had problems activating boxes that are not RID compliant, so you may be better off making sure the box you order is. Either way, RID or non-RID will work fine. There is a thread here somewhere that lists which boxes are RID compiant.

FYI: You should be posting in the Newbie forum until you have some experience under your belt.
