I bought a DSR7000 from weeknees and a Seagate 120gb hard drive. When I try the LBA48 cd and the InstantCake cd, they always give me input/output errors when it goes to install the image on the drive.

Do I need to unlock the drive or do something special with a Seagate drive that I am missing?? I installed these fine on a DSR704 from the same cd sets I am trying to use now.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No special steps should be required. Check the usual suspects: Jumpers, loose cables, etc. Run the manufacturer's diagnostics on the drive, burn a new cd from the image.

Thanks PlainBill, I tried all of your suggestions.

But in the end, I think (for some unknown reason) that InstantCake doesn't like my Dell PentiumII computer. I set everything the same and put them in my other computer and it worked like a charm.

Glad you got it working. Pentium 2 systems are getting a little dated, especially when dealing with larger drives. Or it might have been flakey memory. Or the halloween goblins might have been visiting early.
