Does anyone know for those of us who have lifetime subscribitions with DTivo where does this new R15 model fit in? or my current Tivo?
TIA.
Matt

I have one. It's called paying the monthly charge for Total Choice Premier. :D

Ah, well, hardly the same thing. I would presume that, in that case, the subscription would continue if you switched to an R15.

Oh, BTW, congrants on the Bears win today. Everytime my Lions go into overtime I just know we will blow it.

They did a long time age (2-3 years). And IIRC, it was the box, not the account that got lifetime (like with a SA unit). But not since. Now everything is monthly or free with Premiere package.

actually the account with DTV has lifetime, but since the new R-15 won't have TiVo service, all bets are off and I BET they won't be able to get DVR service free if the people getting lifetime got an R-15.

No, it's on the account, not linked to the box like SA TiVos. I ordered Lifetime when I picked up a GXCEBOT in March of 2001, $199 @ that time. When DirecTV took over the DVR end of it in Oct. 2002 and the price dropped to $4.99 mo., they dropped the Lifetime option as well. But, in that time I've replaced the GXCEBOT and a DSR-6000 with an SD-DVR80 and an HR10-250 and I'm still not paying a DVR charge and I don't have the Premier package. I know it's confusing since it's been years since they offered that option.
I have heard of people transferring the Lifetime when they sold a D-TiVo since they didn't plan on staying with DirecTV, but I can't confirm or negate that being an option.
