I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a strange problem I'm having with the Joe editor. I have 3 dtivos, all running 6.2. When I telnet from a WinXP pc into each, the Joe editor won't work on one of the three tivos. It has problems displaying the static header and footer bar. But here's the strange part, from a different WinXP pc it works fine on all three tivos. I've set TERM=xterm on all three, and configured the XP telnet client with "unset crlf". If the problem were on the tivo, I would expect it to fail with any telnet client. If the problem were with the telnet client, I would expect it to fail for all tivos. Neither is the case. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Is that a telnet client setting?

Have you set JOETERM?
Do all three have the same termcap and/or terminfo settings?

Yes, all three have the same termcap file. Setting JOETERM=xterm did not help.

Here's a bit more info on my problem; I'm not getting any error message and joe does open. But the screen is either blank or has a single bar (header bar) in the middle. No loaded file text. If I move the cursor, the file text will appear from under the cursor and the cursor position will show on the top row (but without the rest of the header info). This problem only occurs on one pc. I've tried two others (XP Pro and XP Home) and they both work. On the pc that has the problem I can use joe on my two other tivos with no problem. It's almost like the pc has some sort of telnet values cached for that one ip.
