dsr7000 has 6.2 need to get network

I just got 2 dsr7000 installed instantcake 6.2 on them plugged in my usb ethernet adapters on them. I am able to get an ip address but I can't ftp or telnet to them is there away to enable telnet and ftp without having to buy the ptvnet cd. I don't want to spend another $20. If someone can tell me how to do this it would be great.
