I've created a simple patch that allows the MythTiVo module to be used with a stock (unpatched) mplayer. I was having trouble getting a vstream enabled mplayer or vlc compiled on my KNOPPIX (http://mysettopbox.tv) box, so I made a simple patch to allow you to construct your own url. This allows you to use MFS_FTP or TivoWebPlus to stream to mplayer over http or ftp protocols.

To use, patch the source with the attached file. Then modify the default_helper line in mythtivo-settings.txt to use the new format. Use '%t' for the tivo ip address and '%f' for the fsid number. My setup for using MFS_FTP is this:

default_helper=mplayer -vf pp=lb -quiet -fs -cache 16384 -aop list=volnorm ftp://%t:3105/ty/%f.ty
There is a module for TiVoWebPlus out there somewhere that allows you to download video in the format of http://tivo/fsid.ty, but I can't seem to find it. I'm pretty sure I used to have it somewhere, but if I did have it, I could use the following:

default_helper=mplayer -vf pp=lb -quiet -fs -cache 16384 -aop list=volnorm http://%t/%f.ty
Just download MythTivo (http://tivo-mplayer.sourceforge.net/mythtivo.html) source code and apply the attatched patch before compiling. Vserver is still required for the module itself, and you can still use the old vserver links. This just adds a little more flexibility.

cwingert, feel free to apply the patch to the official release if you are so inclined. :)
