In this thread there are numerous commands mentioned, do I use telnet to apply the commands? I am going to use FTP WANDERER to move files from my PC to my TiVO, but as far as I know it has no command line, or does it? Advice please. THANX in advance.

You would use telnet. And I highly suggest you do some reading on basic Linux, before you blow something up.
