I have a Samsung SIR-S4080R that I purchased this past July and it is running.
The unit is currently running Software Version 6.2.01-2-381
I made a dd copy of the drive and I and trying to run killhdinitrd on it.
I have the drive connected as the secondary master but I get the following message
Fatal: no exploit found for this kernel
when I try to killhdinitrd the drive.

I have also tried to mount the drive because it does not show up in the list when I do a df command. Can someone tell me how to mount this drive? I am a bit rusty since it's been a while from messing with my Series 1 DTivo.

Thanks.

In terms of killhdinitrd, what you need to do is get a 3.1.5 kernel, killhdinitrd it, and dd it to the appropriate partition. Alternatively you can get a pre-killhdinitrd'd kernel and dd that over. The $5 tools CD from ptvupgrade has pre-killhdinitrd'd kernels.

As far as mounting...should be trivial. What are you using for your boot CD, how do you have it cabled up to your PC, and what command are you using to mount it?
