HELP!! Wieless bridge extremely slow throughput

I have succefully hacked my DSR708. Telnet and ftp are running just fine with aprox 0.7m/s with stock drivers using wire, which is common from what I have read. I am using a Belkin F5D7230 router with a Netgear FA120. The problem is when I connect via wireless bridge. I am using a Netgear WGE111. I am able to connect but have extremely slow throughput (.3kb/s) with 100% signal for the devices (both are 802.11g compatible). I am not a network guy, so to me it doesn't make any sense. I have tried the bridge on my desktop, fine. Tried the adapter with the bridge on desktop, fine. The only time it gives me problems is when hooked up to the tivo. I am not even sure where to begin and need some direction. If anyone can hlep it would be much appreciated.

More about the system. I just started from a fresh copy of 6.2. The only hacks I have are the superpatch and disabled encryption and modified the bootpage. Still running stock drivers.

While searching on this subject I did come across something about running: ifconfig -a. So I ran that it it appears that there are alot of errors shwoing up even when wired. Could this be a problem??

HELP!! I took a look up in the attic yesterday and don't think it is going to be much fun(maybe impossible and definlty not safe) to run wire through out the 1' crawl space in my circa 1930 flat while crawling on my stomach, dodging the electical system.

Use the ifconfig from the usb backport package for more accurate results.

I have my wireless bridge between two F5D7230-4's and I can about .7 meg/sec (as reported by TyTool) over the bridge and to a wireless laptop on the other end. OTOH, when I don't use the bridge, I get 1.7 meg/sec (still with the wireless laptop). I don't know if this will help you, but I think the problem might be the differently branded equipment. Their protocols might be slightly different, and since the TiVo can't push data very fast, the differences might be enough to cause problems. If you have the option, try another Belkin product for the WAP, or a Netgear wireless router.

errors are nill, at first I thought maybe it was some type of error correction that the bridge was utilizing but these results shoot that out of the water. What you are saying is about the only thing that makes any sense to me.

So what you are using is two of the Belkin F5D7230-4's bridged together? Just checked the Belkin site and cannot follow the instructions because the option is not available on the utility. I will give Belkin tech support a call. It makes me feel better if I know someone has the same config working cause then I know it can be done.

I will try backporting the ports as one last ditch effort to see if that makes any difference. If that doesn't work I am going another route.
