View Full Version : DVR80 Video Extraction and Unscramble

I have tied to use tystudio and tyeditor and mfs_ftp and can not get any to work. With ty stuff it gives me a error that it can not get the NowShowing list. One problem I know I have is that I have not unscrabled my shows. I am having problems finding a program that I can use and understand how to install. Would really like some help with this. I have hack the tivo and have tivo web access and ftp and telnet working just fine. Ftp is only to send data to the unit not to receive anything. Please simplifie so many can understand what is going on. Thanks.
Note: DVR80 Hacked 80gig hd. 70 hour. Wireless Networking 6.2

You need to do a lot of reading and searching.

The nowshowing problem (which you are actually having with tserver, not tystudio) is well known; you need to upgrade to a newer version of tserver.

But in point of fact you cannot extract scrambled shows. The shows must be unscrambled first. This is NOT a simple process -- if you are having trouble just getting tserver or mfs_ftp running, you don't want to go anywhere near unscrambling your existing videos until you do a lot of reading.

Do a search for the s2_unscramble thread for more info on unscrambling.

I have tried to install tyserver and can not get it to work. Is there a way to extract the video with it scrambled and then unscramble on the computer. I have read so much but everything I read seems to either seem greek or get through have way and there is no finish direction on how to make it work. I do have a lot of computer experiance but the tivo boxes are still a little of my normal path.

You need to monte a unscramble kernel (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140449&postcount=2) with the unscramble.o module and play each of the encrypted recordings at least for a few seconds to de-crypt them.
