View Full Version : cant mount p7 after 2.5 restore..Help PLEASE

everything goes great until i try and mount p7.....it says specify file type

if you restored a 2.5 image using mfs tools, then you probably only have one valid partition. i beleive part of the savings using mfstools is that it only backs up the active partition. thus, if you restore and the backup's active partition is the one where your old active partition was, then you will not be able to mount the other one. dont worry about it in that case.

I am trying to do the service hack and the bash
update prom....restore...no problem........but when I mkdir /mnt/tivodrive...np...then i type mount /dev/hdc7 /mnt/tivodrive
it says must specify file type
when I type
mkdir /mnt/tivodrivevar
mount /dev/hdc9 /mnt/tivodrivevar......
no problem...
any ideas

you're mounting the wrong partition for 2.5.. try /bin/hdx4
