Searching through Live TV

OK... is it just me or does DirecTivo not have a function to search through shows that are now playing on live tv.

TO me this seems like a basic function that even my 3rd gen receiver has. I know I can do a search for shows to record, but what about just to watch!

While I know that the GUI is proprietary, I'd imagine that the database that holds what is currently on live tv would be query-able through the bash prompt.... Now would there be any way to have this info displayed on my DirecTivo?

Yeah! The TiVo shoud have a Live-Guide? ;) What were they thinking not including a Live-Guide in such awesome software. Whoever it was that is responsible for not including a Live-Guide should be shoT! :D

Oh yea.. just to clarify.. I'm not talking about a guide, I'm talking about searching. Meaning:

I feel like watching Seinfeld, let me go to the SEARCH function type in Seinfled and my reciever should tell me when its playing and on what channels.

don't mind IWantMyDTV he just goes off on people sometimes but we still like him.

There is a search function in tivo central that will let you search by whatever criteria you choose. Also on my philips if you press the "watch live tv" button while watching tv it will bring up the guide data. Then press the "display" button and it will let you filter the current shows by category, time, etc.
