when does 2.5 rewrite the prom?

I upgraded to the hacked prom, copied over the 2.5 image pending reboot, does it rerite the prom after reboot? fixup didn't work :)

after the reboot it does the complete install, I'm guessing it overwrites the prom then, so I need to go back to 2.0, copy and write the prom then copy back the installed backup

rewriting the prom is launched from rc.sysinit, if a flag has been set (note that I'm not really sure where the flag is)

Ok, it must happen before the reboot and install process.
I restored the pending resart image, cleared and delted all after it went through the whole installing shiz thing and everything worked out.
