OK, I have a hacked S2 Dtivo that is running 6.2, I like to tranfer some of my movies that I just got currently store on my PC, could I just tranfer this to my tivo since I don't want to burn in on DVD and watch it from my DTivo. TIA :D

Check out the tivoserver support thread for the answer. Hint: it's yes.

you can also bypass tivoserver and use these files and scripts

first if it is an encrypted dvd you will have to decrypt it .. then these scripts run on the dvd vob files..

C:\utils>cat mplvob.bat
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.vob -f mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -b 2000 -aspect 4:3 -an j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.vob -f mp2 -ab 192 -ar 32000 -ac 2 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a
c:\mplex\mplex -f 10 -r 3000 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a -o j:\tivo-store\%1.ty

here is one to convert mpgs
C:\utils>cat mplmpg.bat
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.mpg -f mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -b 2000 -aspect 4:3 -an j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.mpg -f mp2 -ab 192 -ar 32000 -ac 2 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a
c:\mplex\mplex -f 10 -r 3000 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a -o j:\tivo-store\%1.ty

C:\utils>

here is one to convert .avis

C:\utils>cat mpl.bat
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.avi -f mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -b 2000 -aspect 4:3 -an j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.avi -f mp2 -ab 192 -ar 32000 -ac 2 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a
c:\mplex\mplex -f 10 -r 3000 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a -o j:\tivo-store\%1.ty

C:\utils>

I have had good luck with these making stuff and putting it back on the tivo..

also use dvdx to convert from mpg to avi if needed

lgkahn:
What version of mplex are you using to do this?
The versions I have on both my linux and windows machines do not have a -f 10 option.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Look at the bottom of this (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=247020&postcount=750) post in the Tivoserver thread.

Thanks for this...

here is one to convert .avis

C:\utils>cat mpl.bat
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.avi -f mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -b 2000 -aspect 4:3 -an j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v
ffmpeg -y -i j:\tivo-store\%1.avi -f mp2 -ab 192 -ar 32000 -ac 2 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a
c:\mplex\mplex -f 10 -r 3000 j:\tivo-store\%1.m2v j:\tivo-store\%1.m2a -o j:\tivo-store\%1.ty

C:\utils>

For the UK Series 1 I've changed it to this...

ffmpeg -y -i c:\x\test.avi -f mpeg2video -s 480x576 -b 4000 -r 25 -aspect 4:3 -an c:\x\x.m2v
ffmpeg -y -i C:\x\test.avi -f mp2 -ab 192 -ar 32000 -ac 2 c:\x\x.m2a
C:\x\mplex -f 10 -r 4000 c:\x\x.m2v c:\x\x.m2a -o c:\x\test.ty
del c:\x\x.m2v
del c:\x\x.m2a

Then use Filezilla (Port 3105) to transfer it up to the TIVO

Thank you
