mfstool restore -i /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdc /dev/hdb....
reports segmentation fault.

Trying to restore to dual drive unit. MFS Tool readme says as long as a and b are as large a backup of a, this is possible.

Does the backup of the single drive hve to be done with the mfstool -s option?

Can you restore a 40g single drive backup to a 30g+15g unit?

Thanks

After re-reading the faqs, its seems that I should be able to do this but I may be missing something. The mfstool says that as long as a+b are as big as the a backup, it should work.
I don't know if I need to prepare the drives some way first?

I could always go buy a bigger a drive but I thought this should work?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I believe the faq says:
mfstool restore -zi /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdb /dev/hdc

did you forget the z in -zi ???

I have tried that command along with many others that all return segmentation fault.

Have backed up 40g single with mfstool -s option.

Trying to restore to 30+15g with
mfstool -z -i /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdc /dev/hdb

1. Is this even possible or am I way off base?

2. Is there a dsr 2.5 30g backup anywhere to d/l?

Thanks

palo:

Your A drive will need to be at least 40 GB to restore the 40GB backup.
