I have seen websites before that show you how to hack a PS1. They had nice digital pics and detailed steps on how to do stuff right.

Is there any site like this for us directivo newbies to study before we wreck our machines?

Thanks to all in advance.

Start here:

It's long, but try to go through most of it. How are your PC skills? If you're comfortable with command mode DOS (eg C:>), then you'll do OK. Pick up a Linux command reference from the local computer store or Best Buy. You'll need the Dylan Boot Disk or Kazymyr's Boot CD for Tivo. Good site for this is:

Take it slow. Plan on two to four weeks of "getting familiar". First thing to try is backing up your drive to a PC. This *will* void your warranty when you crack the seal (though I got warranty repair on a unit anyway after breaking the seal).

Don't try flashing your prom or any of the recently posted hacks until you're intimate with doing backups and feel at home with some basic Linux commands.
