Hi,
I was using the direct show dump utility which works fine.
Then I was using tmpgenc.exe to change them from mp2 to mp1 and everything was working fine. I woke up this moring to work on some files and now tmpgenc now says that the files are un read able.
Can anyone help me with this problem?:(

Not sure exactly what the problem is going on here. I believe TMPGEnc, and quite a few other programs, have problems with source videos over 4GB in size (the infamous 32-bit issue).

Assuming these are files off your tivo and they aren't that large, then something else is obviously wrong. Probaby "something" is damaged or corrupted but there are so many things to check. I'd start by running an in depth disk-check on your hard drive. Then see if the 'dumped' MPEG2 files are viewable from an MPEG2-aware video player (I saw a thread regarding VLC). Do you have old 'dumped' files you can check to see if they are still readable?

Also, if you're using DirectShow Dump, does that mean you're using encrypted .tivo files? Is your MAK (and subscription) still current? So many things to check.
