2.5 increased hard drive noise?

Anyone noticed increased hard drive noise with 2.5? I've noticed much hard drive grinding on both boxes since I put 2.5 on them. The bedroom box is so noticable that I'm ready to start pulling the plug on it at night. I thought maybe it was just increased indexing after the upgrade, but it's been over 2 days now and the activity is still going.

Only 3 months later than your post (you see, the SEARCH function works!) and I have the same question. I just recently acquired a DSR6000. I put a 60gb drive in it and used XTreme25 on it. Everything works fine, but there is a LOT of hard drive thrashing going on. Very noisy. Anyone have an answer?

I don't have any unusual noise but can tell that the drives never stop/park/sleep even when the unit is turned off. I assume that this is normal, but how long can drives run continuously?

Are you guys using the SAME HDs as you did with 2.0? Several people have started a thread about how their bigger drives are more noisey in general.
