dtv tivo in canada help!!!!

I am new to this and just got a philips dtv tivo from ebay and hooked it up but realized the record function dont work. Later realized that you have to subs and the system tries to call but I cancelled cause I live in canada and thats a no no. I was just wondering how would i be able to get around this problem either legit or not. I dont mind subs legit but because i live in canada i cant. Please let me know how i can get this thing working

Welcome to the forum.

You'll need to modify the software on the TiVo's hard drive. It needs to be removed and installed in a pc to do this. Get v2.5Xtreme (see other thread in this forum). You also need a CD burner and a pc that will boot from a CD.
