For quite awhile now I've used vsplit9r15 with a hand-tweaked mencoder and a few other hacks to transcode my DTV source to other forms. It's worked pretty well. I recently decided to replace Linux on my fileserver with Solaris because of ZFS and, more intriguingly, RAID-Z.

There is a Solaris addon that allows execution of unmodified Linux binaries, but feel it's overkill for a single application. Has vsplit been compiled for any other platforms?
