I have been with direcway for over 2 years. Recently I upgraded to the new dw7000 modem which required a 15 month commitment in order to get the free dw7000 modem and $69.95 a month price. Well after 2 weeks of being on the phone with support, support finally told me that they would have to send a technician out to align my antenna which would cost me a $100 out of my pocket. I told them that I wasn't going to pay and they told that I could cancel the upgrade. I canceled the upgrade and sent back the modem.
After about a week of working with support I got my old modem back on line.
After about 3 days the internet was on and then off. Rather than calling support again, I called billing and canceled the service. Billing tells me that I must pay $300 for canceling the upgrade. I told them that support told me to send it back and everything would cancel. They still insist on me paying the $300. I ask them then what do I get for the 15 month commitment and they say nothing. I will never again use this company for anything and I would advise anyone else not to either. The service is awful. A little cloud and it will not work. They outsource everything so if you to someone today, you may get another story tomorrow. It takes forever to get anything done.

All large companies are taking the world and sending it to hell. IMO.

Look at my industry. Laboratory / Analytical Research Equipment. There is this group called Thermo Electron who has now bought several DOZEN companies and call them all THERMO... Its damn annoying. You have the same company, with 2 dozen different addresses. The prices on parts to support their products have DOUBLED in the last 2 years. Not every part, but amaizing, the ones that are needed the most. Companies not under the Thermo umbrella, still have normal pricing. Guys are consolidated, given the phone and told to deal with products they hardly even could recognize. Where are the guys who have 30 years experience? O yea, there are none.

I just look at Enron and how all the executives dont think once about anything BUT $$$. Yes, its the American way, but God damn, this crap sucks anymore. Dell support sucks, Directv support is known as "CSR Roulette" (At least they are still native English speakers).

Sounds like Doomsday, but I dont know what else but to say, "Get used to it"
