I have a Series1 Sony SAT-T60 DirectTivo that I've had for years and it's been great, except I need a bigger drive. So I ordered a 160GB Quickview and started researching about swapping it in. I then read about the cachecard (for the speed boost and Tivoweb) and thought "while I'm in there, I should add this too" and ordered it.

So now I've got a big drive and the cachecard sitting here waiting for me to get started, and then I came accross this site. Now I'm thinking about some of these mods (like streaming video to my Mac and displaying .jpg files on my TV).

What is the best way for me to get started? I don't need to copy my recorded shows or anything. My goal, for now, is to install the bigger drive (hopefully with LBA48 support), install the cachecard, configure the network interface and setup Tivoweb. I would die happy if I could just get that much done, the rest I'll leave for later when I have time. Hardware first, then comes the software.

Thanks in advance for any help!

With an S1, all of what you want to do is very simple. You've come to the right place - start reading.

C'mon, at least give the poor guy a clue where to start! I'd look here first. (http://tivo.stevejenkins.com/)
