HR10-250 Phoning Home.

2 Years ago Bellsouth and I had a "parting of the ways". Needless to say I no long have local phone service, but now I have a new HR10-250.

Do I need to find a friend with a phone line to start this system or has D* managed now to allow new systems to be setup without calling home first?

If you're not planning to hack, then you need to find a friend with a phone line.

If you hack, you can run fakecall.tcl and bypass the initial setup, then manually go through the setup stuff.

I am planning on hacking later, waiting on HD prices to drop just a little bit more. :) ...I love my current TivoWeb on my S2. So I guess to start I need to take it by my friends house and let it call home at least once.
