I picked up an S2 24004A series Tivo. I originally Instant caked it with the old software (4.??) not really sure now what it was. Anyway, worked like a charm and I had a 137gig out of a 200gig drive. But now with 7.X I'd like to just re-cake the thing and go to a larger drive still. So I look at PTVupgrade and see in the release notes that a version of IC is now LBA48 aware for 7.X software for my model. BUT...... it only shows ONE CD, no explanation of what version it is on the order screen. Their support has not been of help with the forum move, etc. I was just looking for a straight answer. If I order the IC CD (the only one) for my Tivo, WHAT version IS IT????? I need the LBA48, 7.X.

WHAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Why is everything Tivo related so cryptic??? I just can't get a straight answer anywhere, and I did read the last 3 days looking for it.

I'm frustrated.

PTVupgrade monitors this forum. Try PM'ing them here, otherwise I doubt many people here can help. I know I can't, I've never used any of their products.. haven't needed to.

If you install any version of an image for your particular machine, after a few dialups, it should upgrade to the latest version anyway.

So.... install image (without expanding if it's not the version you want)
Dial up until you have the latest version
Expand

OK, if I did that, I'd only have to boot with the LBA48 boot CD and then use MFSADD?

Is this correct?
