Dtivo Rebooting at night, and stuck at Powering up in the morning.

It's been a while since I hacked my Dtivo, using Sleeper.

Here recently, I have been finding my system sitting at the powering up screen. Sometimes it's just once a week, other times almost daily.

I'm still using 3.1.1c and all the goodies that came with the old sleeper tivowebplus 1.0 etc.. Haven't had a problem with anything until the recent reboots. I'm able to D/L my shows to my computer etc.. Been real happy with it.

My question is, is the rebooting problem due to the current software version? I've been reading some on this 6.2 software?

Should I upgrade my software, or is it more likely the hardware causing the problem.

If an Upgrade is needed could someone point me to the thread on upgrading.

This may indicate a impending disk failure. Are there any messages in the log files that hint at why the reboots. There should be information in the kernel log. If so you may want to post the related logs if you cannot figure it out.
On one of my unis I lost a hard drive and it was stuck at the power up screen.

also search for my thread on this.. I had this happening same as you some mornings .. it was due to orphaned season passes and whether or not data on that show came down over the stream that night...

I removed and readd the season passes and all is ok now.
