Bought a 6.2 image as the incredible amount of data to go through is overwhelming. Running DSR704's. I bought 4 of them with no drives, bought an image for like $50 (6.2), yeah I know shame on me but I wanted the newer version as I was on 4.0.1b forever and didn't have time to do it.

The guy requested the units reciever ID saying the HMO is specific to each one. The first one works fine which is the reciever ID I gave him, but the other ones say powering up, and then you see the unleashed screen and then it reboots about 2 seconds after you see it, and starts over.

I suspect in his image he looks to see if it matches and reboots if it doesn't so he can keep getting his $50 for each one.

Is this something he is doing, or does the reciever ID really matter on turning on the HMO option or specific to each one on the image.

thanks. also sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

If you purchased a pre-hacked image then you should be dealing with the guy that sold it to you. Never mind that he's taking you to the cleaners. The RID number has got nothing to do with HMO.

He can't deal with the guy he bought the image from since he's trying to only pay for one copy of the image but use it on four units.

There's an ironic joke in here somewhere, but the caffiene hasn't fully kicked in yet so I'm going to stop...

I think I saw the answer in the thread here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35229). Also contact the guy you got the disk from and ask him if he adhered to all the licenses involved and if royalties have been paid to the guys that created the tools he used to hack the drive. The people you are asking help from now are the people who's work was stolen by the guy to make the $50. It appears that the decision you have to make is if the time it takes you to read the document found in this post (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37058)and learn how to do this is worth the $150 dollars you will have to send the guy to get this working.
:eek:I just love it when a guy trying to rip off a guy that ripped off peoples work ask the people that did the work and got ripped off for help. And there in lies the irony.

And there in lies the irony.

See, I knew it was in there. :D

I need to stop browsing forums before I'm fully awake.
