Can I cut and reload ty files?

I've seen a lot of threads on uploading mpeg files and such. What I want to do is download a movie that I've recorded, edit out the commercials, and put it back on the tivo.

I can download a movie with tytools in ty format. I can make the cut file. I can get the mpeg file without the commercials. I don't think there's a way to get a ty file without the commercials, though. And even if there was a way, there's no way to upload the file back through tytools, right?

The only way I can see to do this is to first make the cut mpeg. Second use the tools referenced in other threads to create a file for upload. Then use mfs_ftp to put the files on.

Is there any way to do it without the extra steps? If not, I'd like to add to the list of requests.

Chunk Edit can cut chunks out of the .ty file and output a .ty file.

Alternatively, do a search on Ty-enabled mplex; this will let you take the edited mpeg file and turn it back into a .ty file.
