While goofing around, I tried to ressurect the TiVo Guy LongOpen animation from MFS. After searching some, I found AlphaWolf's script (http://64.21.8.90/forum/showthread.php?t=26118&page=1&pp=15) and ran that on my Series 2 (DVR40 running 6.2). The script found the FSID in MFS, but then barfed, so I tried to go about it another way.
I tracked down the FSID of RCA_LongOpen.mpv in MFS, used mfs_export to dump it to file, and used ftp to get it from my tivo to my PC. With it on my PC, I quickly found that it's small size (fewer than 10 chunks) caused tivoserver & tytool to complain, so I had to use mfs_ftp to insert it back into my tivo (which worked). I then used mfs_ftp to extract it as a tmf, deleted the .ty, and attempted the reinsert the tmf. This attempt to insert the tmf caused mfs_ftp to crash, but I didn't think much about it.
Later that night though, my tivo suddently rebooted, and thereafter refused to record any more shows, citing error message #86. I searched the boards and found that typically error #86 is caused by MFS being munged, so I tried so correct it by removing the entires in /Resource/RecordingQueue/ and then with a kickstart 57 followed by a kickstart 58.
Unfortunately, that didn't help, error #86 persists, and it's not possible to record anything. So if anyone has any suggestions of any way to further diagnose the problem, I would appreciate it (I've combed through the logs, but didn't see anything that identified the mfs entry that might have messed things up). Otherwise, I guess I'll start pulling the shows (kinda a pain over wireless) and get ready to do a clear and delete all.
