I have an HDR10-250, and shortly thereafter had Weaknees upgrade the single original drive to a ‘Twin Drive’. When the drives were full I purchased 3 more ‘Twin Drives’ from them.

One year ago I purchased an R5000HD (http://www.nextcomwireless.com/r5000/home.htm), and using this unit I have stored over 200 HD movies onto my PC.

I would like to extract those movies I previously recorded onto the Hard Drives of my Tivo, and be able to place them on my PC.

I have read the posts on this forum, those on www.dealdatabase.com, on the http://www.dvrplayground.com/,and the AVS Forum, however, being by profession an Orthopedic Surgeon (and therefore not very knowledgeable with computers) I do not feel comfortable embarking on this project without the help of someone who feels comfortable in doing this.

I would be more than happy to pay anyone who can help me accomplish the above task.

You can contact me at sb@mobettah.net – cost of this service is very negotiable!

Would any member confident with extraction from an HDR10-250 be willing to guide me through the steps for $1000?

Stuart (sb@mobettah.net)If you're willing to donate that to a charity of my choosing (mainstream and well-known, not too controversial) and we can work out a way for me to confirm you have done that, I'll undertake the task. Though I will insist you do some assigned reading and answer some questions as we go along so I'm sure you understand what's going on. No long-term technical support.

I'm very interested.

Dear Roger,

No problem whatsoever with charity, nor with doing some work either.

Please email me at sb@mobettah.net or call me at <phone num removed> and we will figure out a mutually agreeable plan.

Best Regards,

Stuart

No problem whatsoever with charityI am trying to come to terms with the notion of charging you, even for charity, $1000 for what is worth approximately 17 cents at best, but I'm sure I will be able to assuage my conscience, and I will be talking with you soon.

"being by profession an Orthopedic Surgeon (and therefore not very knowledgeable with computers)"

Reminds me of the joke that to be an orthopedic surgeon you had to be strong and dumb. But now they have power tools! (rimshot)

OK. Not a great joke, but too hard too resist.

Signed,
Idoco (a computer knowledgeable eye surgeon)

P.S. No malice intended Stuart.

Dear Idoco,

None taken, but that joke is older than I am (still cute though), and brings back a lot of good memories.

Stuart
