New Software Update to 7.2.2b-oth-2-140

It seems that I received a software update the other night but have not seen any reports of one going out. Anyone else get this yet? Anyone tried to upgrade?

Yup, got the same thing; as with you checked with "echo mls /SwSystem | tivosh" - dead giveaway was the "pending restart" status. I haven't upgraded yet either. I read at TCF that tivo has been trickling out the 7.2.2b release to deal with random rebooting certain users were experiencing. Curiously, only one of my two "240's" has received the update so far. As I understand, 7.1 is working feverishly on the 7.2.2b tivoapp patch...I'm holding out a little longer.

Yep, just as I was looking to get a bash prompt over the network for my TiVo, I get this new version, "7.2.2b-oth.A2-01-2-140" on it.

O well! =) I am sure there will be a way to make it work.

Pretty sure killhdinitrd won't work on the stock 7.2.2b kernel based on 7.1's comments in the killhdinitrd support thread. The most recent version of killhdinitrd does work on a specific kernel "7.2.2-oth.K1" but it appears that was not widely released.

However, I'm confident that a killhdinitrd "7.2.2-oth.K1" kernel and other known good ones (like 3.1.5 for instance) will work on 7.2.2b. Those two killhdinitrd kernels and others are on the "enhanced" iso at ptvupgrade.com for a mere $5. That and a little searching is all you need to get bash on your tivo and be on your way...

BTW: Looks like the 7.2.2b tivoapp Superpatch has been released; thanks Jamie, iwantmydtvnow, 7.1, NutKase and all others for the hard work and speedy release!! Look forward to the upgrade, as soon as I can get a night that nothing's taping on my tivo!!!
