I had telnet, tivoweb, ftp, tytool, etc. running on my tivo through my network. My power went out for about 2 seconds the other night and now I can't get anything running on my tivo. I have my tivo setup to "dial in" thru the internet, and that does work just fine. I have a linksys router and I have tried to just restart my tivo(several times) and I can't seem to get my tivo to show up in myDHCP table in my router. I have tried to restart my router, but nothing. I can ping the tivo just fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

THANKS IN ADVANCED.

I can't say for sure, but that's similar to what happened to me.

I didn't know it, but I think the upgrade to 3.5 had come down, and was waiting to install. We had a power outage and when the power came back, my DTiVo booted to the upgrade.

I had to re-hack everything from scratch.

Maybe this is what happened to you? What version were you on? What are you on now?

If its a Series-2 Tivo, there was a thread a couple weeks back where someone had managed to generate two IP addresses (on two different subnets, even) on the Tivo. It has to do with the way system 6.2 and 7.x handle networking, apparently where the Tivo wants to store the IP in MFS ( on a hacked S2 try mfs_ls /State/Network ) but the linux tools (related to iptables) also allow you to monkey directly around with some settings. Anyway, that is essentially why lgkahn's NetConfigure.tcl script got created.

It might be worth checking if you have multiple competing IP addresses in your Tivo.

It wound up being the software upgrade to 3.5. I took my drive out and put it in a spare pc. All of my hacks were still in var/hack (mount 9). All I had to do was make a new author.rc.sysinit file on the active partition which was partition 4. I then put the drive back in my DTivo and everything was fine except my shows were scrambled. I ftp into my DTivo and saw that I forgot to put my noscramble file into the lib/modules directory in partition 4. Everything is back to normal now.
