Hello all,
I know I'm probably going to get bashed but here goes. I recently did away with my DTV service then realized just how much I depended on the guides and recording features. So I had this old series 1 that I resurrected from the dead by putting a reimaged (by me) drive in it then discovered that the modem was damaged so I added a Tivonet card. The darn thing actually worked, I was suprised. It only has 14 hours of recording time at basic quality but heck, IT WORKED!! So I have put this system in use as a temporary system until I can get the new dual tuner Tivo. But I have 2 other series 2 tivos and would like to transfer shows around and the series 1 isn't co-operating. Can someone point me in the right direction or send me a list of commands I can execute on the series 1 (I've found I have telnet access to the series 1) to get it to show up on Tivo desktop or is this not possible?

Thanks
G

You can transfer shows using mfs_ftp but there are caveats when going between series 1 and series 2 Tivos. The multi-room viewing function is not available for the series 1 units so it won't work with the Tivo desktop software.

Ok I don't know how but I have web access to this old Tivo unit. How the heck did that happen?? When I type the IP address into my browser it comes up with a screen titled TiVo Web Project - TCL - v1.9.4. The CD image I was able to download mentioned that there were 2 images on it. It looks like I somehow loaded the hacked version I think. Ok knowing all this how do I enable FTP access for transfers?? Something else I just discovered, I can FTP into this unit but when I scan it's IP address for open ports FTP isn't listed?? What am I missing?? I was going to load MFS_FTP on it but it seems I don't need to.

Thanks
