Hi All--

Haven't been around here for a while.

I want to get caller ID running on my DirecTV TiVO (yes, I have caller ID enabled from the telco). I don't want to run a client/server caller ID setup, I want the TiVo modem to receive the caller ID and send it to the TV screen.

Is elseed still the prefered method?

Thanks!

I believe your options are elseed or NCID. NCID is client/server based, but I believe you can run the server on the Tivo to use it as a standalone program.

Thanks for the info. I'm working on getting NCID working. It seems pretty nice.

I'm testing ncidd. I can't seem to get the actual number when a call comes in. I just get:
CIDINFO: *LINE*-*RING 1*

I've searched for a proper answer but can't seem to find one. Some people say that the Philips DVR7000 modem doesn't support caller ID but I've read at least one post claiming that it does work.

Does anyone know if the Philips DVR7000 modem supports caller ID?

Thanks
