I'm not that new to Tivo hacking, but this is really a newbie question so I'll post it here.
I'm getting ready to upgrade my TV from SDTV to a 61" Samsung HDTV. I've got an RCA SDTV receiver that I hacked and upgraded to the DTV 6.2 version and it works great. I'm thinking about purchasing the HR10-250 from Weaknees but I've got a couple questions:
1) Since it has the non-standard drive (i assume) does it come pre-hacked? Or do I have to hack it myself once I get it?
2) Will DTV activate it? I saw another thread or two that said as of 3/2006 DTV wont activate Tivo based receivers anymore. Is this true? Would I end up spending $500 for a box that they won't activate?
