Complete Newbie question

Hi I just got the DTV SD-DVR40 (still in the mail) and I have a tivo sa 2 the 24080 which is too loud for my wife in the bedroom so I wont be using it much more I will be using the SD-DVR40, what I want to do is to upgrade the drive to a 80 GIG which I think I found enough info on and I should be able to do with out a problem, but my question is and Im completly lost on this how can I use HMO, with the DTV ?

The threads that I seen are over 1 year old, from what I understand is that I need to install 6.2 OS ? and then I can use a wireless usb card that Im using with the 24080 ? and the tivo desktop ? Im like really confused with all the threads and half guides and all the utils and such, can anyone tell me what exactly I need and the steps to do it and I really dont want to pay $20 for the CDs .... Thanks in advance for your help.:D

Nobody here is going to give you step-by-step instructions. Guides are, as often as not, out of date and make poor assumptions. A bit of reading and you can learn the steps, however.

Yes, you want 6.2. Yes, you can use wireless, although there are limitations as the DTivo doesn't have a network setup screen. Older versions of Tivo Desktop work, but not the latest (or so I am told).

Find out what version of the software is on the DTivo when you receive it and then we'll know where you need to go next.

thanks for the reply. I guess ill have to wait for the box and ill post here again. can you atleast point me in the right direction so i can start research i went thru alot of posts here already
