I'm switching over to DirecTV and a DTivo, so I'm putting my current lifetime standalone Tivo up on eBay. Before selling it, I want to make sure it's clean as can be, both for my protection and for the buyer. So far, I've applied a fresh 7.2.2 image, so there are no remnants of my hacks or info. However, I have a few questions:
How do I remove the Tivo, MAK, etc from my account at Tivo.com? I see plenty of options to add new Tivos, but not remove my existing one. Will Tivo cause trouble for me if I call them and tell them I'm selling my Tivo?
Is there any information I should black out of screen shots in my auction? Tivo service number, etc?
Finally, any general advice? I was going to put it up with a $300 reserve, as they seem to be going for $300-$500 (and with a 200GB drive and an unused dual-drive bracket, it should get at least a little boost).
Thanks!

This is not what you are asking but I would hold on to the SA, particularly since it has a lifetime sub.. I have both a DTV DVR-40 and my SA. They work well together and MRV to each other. I would not be without the SA in case for some reason I had to drop DTV and go back to cable.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I look at it like this - Tivo's cheapest plan is a three-year prepay of $469. It's possible that my auction will net this amount. Even if it doesn't pull that much, it almost certainly will get $369 which is the two year plan. So, I would have to get two full years of use out of it to justify not selling it.
Given that I'm moving to satelite with technically a one-year commitment (although backing out is pretty cheap), it's unlikely that I'll be back on cable in the near future, if at all (Comcast in my area WAY over-compressed the channels, causing ugly artifacting even on best quality). A year from now, I would certainly hope that the Series3 is out, as well as an integrated ComcasTivo. Both of those options would be preferable to my SA Series2, even if they aren't hackable (for a while, anyway :D ).
So, what with moving to a DTivo, I don't see much of a future for me using my SA Series2 again. Might as well get the money out of it now via eBay.
[Now what I would hold on to if I had them are those lifetime subscription cards. I wonder if those can be applied to the Series3? There are a couple dual-tuner Tivo's with them applied that are going for insane amounts of money. Hell, the cards themselves are going for $700!]

Yeah, I've seen some Lifetime sub cards on ebay. I think I read on pvrwire or prvoblog a few months ago that they would be applicable to the Series 3 if they were bought by or before a certain date. That's why I started looking for one. Once I saw the price I was no longer interested. The cheaper option would be to get a Series 1 that has a lifetime sub and transfer its subscription to a new Series 3. Correct me if I'm wrong but you can do that with a Series 1 that was bought before 2000. That was a deal that was offered when the Series 2 came out and I've also read that it will apply to the Series 3.
I bought my SA as a $99 refurb 4 years ago and bought the lifetime sub, which at that time was $199. I figured accurately that I would have made my money back after two years. Therefore, my incentive to hold on to it is much stronger.
Depending on the price of the Series 3 I may get an HD Tivo rather than another Tivo unit, unless I can get a Series 1 with lifetime and transfer the sub to a Series 3. At least the Direct TV unit is hackable and will have some of the Series 3 capabilities. Good luck with your sale :)

Even though everyone here probably has what they need already, why the hell not post it anyway. You guys know what I've put it through more than anyone else. :D
