View Full Version : TY Files Crash Windows Media Player

I have successfully upgraded a Samsung SIR-S4120R using InstantCake and PTVNet. After successfully accessing the Tivo using TivoWebPlus I attempted extraction using TyTool 10r4 on a XP machine. While I was able to successfully start tserver and "get" shows from the Tivo to my PC, I was unable to play them or convert them to MPEG2. For example, when I try to open the TY file on my PC Windows Media Player begins to load but I quickly get a error "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close".When I use TyTool to create MPEG2 files using Multiplex Files(s) it quickly creates the file with a size of only 3KB. It also creates a TXT file with the following contents:

Sorry... Failed to get the first 10 initial chunks...
Have to have at least that many to start the analysis phase...
DiffTime = 0.000000 (0) == 0.000000 Minutes
total = 1310720 (1 MB)

Does this sound like I have something configured incorrectly or some other problem?

Thank you for your response.
