View Full Version : Intalling DHCP in S1 Tivo

I think I might have done a bad bad thing.

I set up a S1 Tivo to use DHCP using the TurboNet nic_install program. I did not set up any kind of IP tables or anything. Just set the Tivo to DHCP.

Rebooted and now I can't find the TIVO on the LAN. Both arp -a (thru Winblows console) and a LAN scanner failed to find the TIVO's IP.

So, two questions.

1. SHOULD I have set up some sort of IP tables or something??

2. Is my only way to fix this, to take the HD out of the TIVO and put it in a PC??

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you still have serial access to bash?

What is serving your dhcp?

Thanx for the response..

I don't know if I do or not. I can't find the correct IP to connect to, to see.

To the best of my knowledge, a Toshiba PCX2200 Cable Modem is serving the DHCP.

No not through the network. SERIAL bash meaning over the serial port

Why not connect to your cable modems management interface and check the current dhcp leases? I think yours can be managed through the web interface

Ahhh DOH! Yea, didn't even think of trying that. Will give that a shot.

I am efforting that right now. So far, I haven't been able to locate any info on accessing the ADMIN functions of the Cable Modem. (Toshiba PCX2200) According to RR, it is not possible.. But I beleive that like I believe in the tooth fairy.. :D
