Well, my ole trusty T-60 I've had for about 3 years just got hit by lightning I think. It had that funky electrical burn smell to it and it won't find satellite strength on ant 1 or 2 in. The good news is all my recorded shows are still there and can be accessed and watched so not all is lost. My first question is does anyone think this unit can be repaired? It appears to work fine except that it has 0% signal strenght on both sat 1 and 2 in.
At any rate, I pulled out an old backup unit I had that was xtremed. It comes up fine and goes past the almost there screen and comes up to the guided setup program where you have to pick your dish type and test signal strength. It goes through all this fine and then goes to the screen where it says checking sat dish setup based on your dish type. It counts up to 28% each time and then stops. All you can do is unplug it to reboot it but it goes to the same setup screen again. My old unit used to do this same thing but as long as you told it what kind of dish you had and let it hang at 28% and then rebooted it, it wouldn't ask you to go through that setup again. Any idea how I can get around this? Could it be a bad xtreme or a bad hard drive causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
