Iv'e been goofing around and I think I may have lost it all. I had backed up my image last week (without recordings tho) with a bunch of old scrambled shows that I have not gotten around to dumping to dvd yet. Then I got a case of the stupid. I tried to force 6.3 manualy. something was hosed. So then I tried that stupid slicer script for 20 bucks. Still a no go. Finaly figured out after waisting 20 bucks that my installsw.tcl was hosed. after i gout a good file of that, it went just fine. Only now I could not play back old scrambled recordings. wierd. I figured my dc keys were messed up or something.

After reading quite a bit I decided that there were too many issues in 6.3 for extraction and I dont want it. So I took my immage from last week and put it back on. Now all recodrings done after the image are gone (somewhat unexpected due to the image only being the file structure, but okay) and my old ones are not playing back. I get the usual error no video blah blah blah. For some reason though a few random ones do play... wierd

I think its a dc key issue, but im not shure. i did a nuke dc key before i did a get dc key (im retarded) should i reimage and get the key then nuke the set?
perhaps i am not doing the dc key properly? On the 6.3 image i did a get_DC_key then I did a set_DC_key wihtout nuking. on this image i did nuke_DC_key then set_DC_key (i know im stupid)

I checked with ciphercheck and they are scrambled but a few did not have cso keys. i think they were the ones that play back.

im about to go nuts

Some of us have lives, you know.

Sounds like you nuked your CSO keys. If so, they're lost.

Who needs lives when we have Tivo? LOL Sorry bout that, a bit of expresions lost to the internet I guess.

So you don't think its the DC key then? csoscout won't help?

Nice win last night

You can't recreate the keys out of nothing. You've re-imaged, right? And you mentioned the image didn't have the recordings. Which means...keys be gone. Csoscout removes keys from unscrambled shows; it doesn't recreate keys.

well the image was of the file system that had the recordings on the drive at that time. I get what your saying. I am confused as to why just a few play back. very wierd.
