Well my upgrade is going great, so when my bracket arrived I installed it and much to my surprise the TiVO's IDE cable jack has an extra pin where every single cable I have (hundreds of them) has a little block in the pin socket at that spot except the old cables with less wires on them which wont work for the newer hard drives. I would like to get this up and running so is there a particular cable type that has every pin socket open that I can buy at say compusa or best buy? I don't want to wait and order one online if I can avoid it.
Its sad that I had 0 problems installing the linux stuff includeing a rev2 USB200M and get defeated by an IDE cable so I thank anyone who can help for their time.

I just snapped that pin off on a couple of my non-HD DirecTivos. Seems to work just fine without it. I haven't been brave enough to do the same on my HR10-250, so let me know if you try it.

On some of those types of cables you can remove the "plug" so that it is open.

If you cant remove it, just use a pick to punch a hole in it.
