Tivo "Resume" behavior odd

Till a few months back before I hacked my tivo I think it used to work as below

1) Watch the program say "MyProg1"
2) if you need to switch to a another different program or turn off TIVO just use the Tivo button to switch or turn it off.
3) when you want to continue watcing the "MyProg1", turn the tivo ON or use the Tivo button and then highlight the "MyProg1" and press play button.

But recently I find that unless I pressed the PAUSE button __Before__ switching or turning off if I try to resume the Program "MyProg1" then instead it starts all over from the begining of the recording.

Does anyone know if this is due to hacking that I did or is it a Tivo bug?

is there any fix for it?

I believe my Tivo has not recieved any software updates (since I hacked it 2-3 months back) except Daily Programming schedule data since as I can telnet/offload unencrypted shows off of it using TyTools/tyserver.

I don't get the behavior you describe, it works as expected. However, if you're watching a LIVE program that is also being recorded, then later try to resume the recording, that will start over. Presumably it sees that as a separate recording. What I like to do in that case, is not watch it live, but go to the Now Playing screen and watch it from there. Then it will remember.

Initially I thought it that way too but No, every single recorded program (not just the one being recorded while being wahtched) has this problem.

I wonder what can be done about it. Should I call Tivo? Will they be able to fix it or will they dismiss it saying I have modified the Tivo and hence cannot provide any assistance?
