Hi there! I'm sure there is a solution to this issue, but my search-foo hasn't revealed it in the last 30 minutes...

I have two DSR7000s DirecTiVos:

-Unit A has a bad second tuner, but content I want to keep. It is running 4.0.1b, with many Tivoapp patches, including encryption disable, HMO/MRV, etc. Up until now, I've settled for one tuner...

-Unit B has a dead hard drive (clicky-clicky), but two good tuners, it was previously hacked and I have backups sans content.

Is it possible to move the hard drive from Unit A to Unit B to get a single unit up and running with two tuners and be able to watch the existing content which was recorded on Unit A? Is there some unit-id or key I need to change?

Sorry, it has been a quite some time since I've been mucking in depth...

Thanks in advance,

matrick

I think all you will need is a script called "51killer" that will deal with the TSN mismatch. Since your shows recorded on unit A are not encrypted (have no CSO), they should be watchable on unit B.

Had a similar problem with a HR10-250. Tivo went bad and was replaced by D*. I took my hacked drive put it in the new HR10-250 ran "51killer" and all was well.

Ahh, Thank you both so much. I'll give that a shot.

Appreciate it...
