OK, so I have a DirecTV Tivo by Hughes. Back in the day I "hacked" it, upgraded the hard drive, etc. using the Sleeper ISO. Of course the image became corrupt after not using the Tivo for almost a year...so I replaced with the factory drive and all is well again.

I finally am back where I will have some time to actually take the tivo apart again and hack it back to where I can actually do something with it besides sit in front of my tv to watch it.

My question is what is the current image / methods to hack and be able to have network access to my tivo? I have listed some things that specifically am looking for:

wireless network connectivity
save shows to a PC
ability to use TivoServer type apps

Thanks to all who reply in advance!

The current methods of hacking require a little knowledge. You haven't said so, but I'm assuming you're now running 6.2. If so, Cheer's roadmap (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43599) is the point to start.

Wireless networking is a little iffy, but this thread (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=238928#post238928) will give you some pointers.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do have 6.2 currently running. One question...does 6.2 automatically allow for networking of the DirecTV tivo...otherwise how do you get access to the tivo in order to install any of the hacks?

6.2 doesn't allow any networking in its stock config. The drivers are there, but the tivo's iptables firewall disables all access. I personally pre-load the drive with all hacks and then run my wireless scripts via serial bash.

Just in case Cheer didn't make it obvious in his roadmap (can't depend on Cubs fans), you do the initial hacks the old fashioned way - you pull the drive and hook it up to a computer, just like you did when you ran TiVoScripts.
