I recently updated my HR10-250 from 3.1.5f to 6.3a using the slicer, despite warnings of problems some people have experienced.
I have seen none of the problems others have reported and I found here, but I did encounter my own highly annoying behavior. Approximately every 4 to 48 hours, I will find that all video output from the TiVo (I normally use HDMI but I've tried the other options) has stopped. Instead, the output appears as alternating blank black screen and snow, each appearing for between 1/5 of a second and 3 seconds. The TiVo still records shows normally; it can still be accessed via telnet, ftp, and http; live or recorded shows can be streamed or downloaded via vserver or tserver; but the direct video outputs simply don't work.
Rebooting reliably ends the problem -- usually for around a day, sometimes less, sometimes more -- but it is unappealing to interrupt any recording that happens to be in progress in order to reestablish viewing function. The problem has never happened to start while I was actually watching TV so I don't know if something in particular is triggering it.
