Could you use this:

a small raid box with two drives and a USB and an sata interface to share your tivo drive to a networked machine to get tivotogo functionality? From the drive upgrade hack it seems like any sata raid box would work (bandwidth permitting) and while this device may not allow both interfaces to be used simultaneously, it seems like a much better solution to occasionally shut down the tivo and then mount the drive to a host machine than to cable swap.

Did anyone ever reply to this, i.e., by PM ?

At present, any disk connected by eSATA becomes "married" to the disk in the S3 box, which means that it can't be shared with any other TiVo. Also, all of the indexing is on the primary disk.

Yeah, but in this case the raid box would be the only (i.e. primary) drive. I'm more interested in trying to read content into a computer than another tivo anyway. Basically an end run to get tivotogo functionality.
