View Full Version : Authoring Tytool generated VOB's to DVD - Playback Issue

After generating VOB's with TyTools (GET-->MAKE KEYFILES-->EDIT KEYFILES-->VOB-MUX), I end up with a final VOB file which I then intend on authoring using NeroVision.

In Nerovision, I begin by importing the previously generated VOB file, create my menus (or not) and proceed to burn. All goes well until I play the disc in my set-top DVD player. Basically, the screen flashes every 5 seconds or so.

After inspecting the imported VOB further in NeroVision by going into 'EDITING' mode, I notice that the file is actually split-up into hundreds of small 5sec or so parts, which matches the intervals at which I am getting the flashes on the TV screen when playing the final disc.

Does not anybody experience the same problem? I have tried everything I can think of at this point. The VOB seems to play fine on my computer but my goal is to author this content into a playable disc.

Many thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Why not use TyTool to generate your IFO files and create a simple menu and generate the DVD-video file structure. It's pretty simple and I've had no problems with it that way. I don't have any experience with NeroVision but it may be doing something to the VOB in the creation process.

I wanted a bit more freedom when creating my IFOs. Don't get me wrong, the IFO creation part of TyTool is welcomed, but only allows for simple menus. This is why I tend to go with another alternative such as NeroVision.

Has anyone else seen something like this before? I'm still at a lost and haven't really found much on the subject.

Thanks

Dunno, NeroVision seems to be a relatively new and not- widely used program. I get worried when Ahead took (arguabily) the best CD/DVD burning program and began bloating it out with "playlist CD", "DVD Authoring", and their own flakey derivative MPEG-4 transcoding.

I still like Nero for burning off disks, but I never use their proprietary tools. You might want to check out VideoHelp.com (http://www.videohelp.com/) for other tools and suggestions.
