(I don't mess around much with S2 SA's. I use S2 Dtivo's personal and S1's for security recorders.)

Ok, have a tcd24XXX with lifetime (and a sdh400, with just tivo basic, but I am using each units own drive to copy to new drive) that I am upgrading from a 250 gig to a 750.

I copy to the new drive.

The drive is recently upgraded to 8.1a - ready to be hacked.

I run my home made script to copy over (killinitrd'ed 7.2.2 kernel copied off cd, new rc.sysinit.author, new iptables, delete netfilter-enable, copy AIO tools and extract) I usually leave the rest to do over serial or network.

BUT, if I connect my linksys 200m adapter it errors out and reboots.
Will boot fine without it attached. BUT if I wait to connect it until boots it will error and reset when I attach it. (I even tried an older usb1.1 linksys 100m adapter but the tivo acts like it isn't there.)

I tried this with both units and it did the same thing.

Its probably something simple, can you guys help me out?

I see insmod in the error, could it be a driver error? Do I need to install the backported drivers?

attached are my logs and script file, and rc.sysinit.author (script shows renaming netfilter, but I delete it manually same with iptables)

Thanks guys...

Trying to hack my 240080 with lifetime. I've copied over the backported drivers and I'm stumped -- it looks like a tivoapp error. But why? I haven't even got that far yet...

Throw export TIVO_ROOT=
export MFS_DEVICE=/dev/hda10 into your rc.sysinit.author

Did you replace /sbin/iptables as described here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=204669#post204669)? If so, double check it is exectable, has unix line endings, etc. Your crash looks exactly like the one that results from using the stock iptables.

I thought I did. I put it in my "copy over" script.
