everybody talking about the hacking tivo , i do have a tivo series 2 , but what is the exactlly hacking ? how could i put more hard drive space on my 80 hours....thanks...

One way is to give your Tivo a Viagra and it will get even harder, the other is to start reading the "Sticky's" in this very thread.

"Hacking" typically means changing or adding-to the software which runs on the tivo. Favorite hacks often include things like show extraction, FTP (file transfer), and Caller-ID service on the tivo.

As far as I've seen, you can put a USB drive on a hacked Tivo, but it's only good for dumping shows. The Tivo software itself won't record directly to a USB drive.
