I am asking this question elsewhere but am curious what folks here have in their TiVo. I would like to max out my 250-10 HD unit to 2TB, but I know this is not possible with modern technology for under $1,000. But I'm curious what people here have upgraded to. My RCA-40 has a 500 GB and at SD, it never runs out of space! But the 250-10 is OEM (250 GB) and is constantly unable to record things because it has no space.

I would like to put more capacity in the 250-10 HD but it's hard to decide to wait or perform an interrum upgrade that I will need to replace eventually when 1 TB PATA Internal drives come into existence.

Does anyone here have a TiVo with more than 1,500 GB capacity? [Details]

How big is your TiVo?

why .. I have a cheap pc running windows 2000 with over 2tb of disk you running tivoserver ... looks just like a tivo to the others.. and in addition.. you can much easier back it up to sdlt tape or whatever with windows stuff.

plus run other servers on it

Actually, you're wrong. Hitatchi has announced the DS7K1000, a 1 TB drive with a MSRP of $399. With two of those you will have your 2TB of storage and change left over from your $1000.

Announced but I've yet to see that drive materialize. Seems manufacturing it isn't as simple as they at first thought.
